Ethel V. Rodgers, 79, of Cherry Mill Lane, Murphy, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at Murphy Medical Center.

    She was a native of Liverpool, England. She worked as a pricing coordinator at Lowes Building Supply. She loved sewing, gardening, reading, working and being around people. She was of the Catholic faith.

    She was a daughter of the late Barnard and Elizabeth Carey Somerville, and preceded in death by her husband, John Ivan Rodgers Jr., who died in June 1999.

    Surviving are her son, Bernard Rodgers of Murphy; daughter, Audrey Budzienski of Mahopac, N.Y.; two sisters, Sheila Nadin and Peggy McGinnis, both of England; three grandchildren, Joseph Budzienski Jr., Amy Rennia Budzienski and Paul Rodgers.

    The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.

    A graveside service will begin at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Peachtree Community near Murphy. The Rev. George Kloster will officiate. Pallbearers will be Joey Budzienski, Jack Craig, Rick Craig and Bernie Rodgers.
