Update-092407

Dear Retirees,  This memo is intended primarily for those retirees living in the Central(Orlando) region of Florida.  Since I can't separate you in my email I will have to send to everyone.  If you are not in the area, just disregard the notice.

I have scheduled a luncheon meeting for Monday, 24 Sept. to organize and discuss what we can do about Embarq dumping our benefits effective 1-1-08.

The meeting will be held at the Golden Corral at 897 Westtown Pkwy, Altamonte Springs. Tel # 407-788-2700

Other areas are having meetings and its time for us to have one.  The Leesburg group meets at a breakfast every month(3rd wed.).  Jim Clay in the Crestview/Ft. Walton area had theirs yesterday.

The lunch buffet for seniors is $6.99 and a 15% gratuity will be charged at time meal is paid for.

I believe the area will accommodate approx. 100 people.  At this point Spouses are welcome if they wish.  It would be helpful if you would let me know if you plan to attend.  Not necessary, but helpful.

Lets get organized. I can give you a update on what is happening generally up in the Carolina area as well as where we stand with the attorney.

Asa R Waters
