Dear Retirees,
We now have a treasurer to receive and take care of our
money. We have opened a bank account so that we can not
just have money laying around.
Ceil Ratliff has agreed to act as and be our Treasurer.
$563.00 was deposited. This amount of money was contributed
by the folks at the Leesburg Breakfast and the retirees at
the Orlando luncheon.
We can now receive and need some petty cash funds for
proceeding with some activities such as sending out mail to
contact those for whom we do not have an email address for.
There are over 1800 retirees listed in the 1998 directory
and we have email addresses for 180 of them. There are
about 1660 Florida Retirees that we only have mail addresses
for. Stamps alone for this amount of mailings @$.41 cents
ea. =$680.60.
So, we now are asking those of you who have not had a chance
to contribute, to do so. If each person could send $5 or
$10 dollars ea. We will have enough money to continue with
the process of contacting every one and inviting them to
join with us in this action against Embarq.
Checks should be made out to "S/E Retirees Fund". Stands
for Sprint/Embarq Retirees.

This has nothing to do with a potential legal fund later.
We need some petty cash for copying, mailing, envelopes etc.
