Dear Retirees,
On Oct 12 a group of 5 retirees met at Ruth Walkers home and
stuffed and prepared approximately 400 mailings to retirees.

A special thanks to Ruth for use of her home. Also, thanks
to Joe Herring, Alice Postan and Ginny Campbell for their
time and work.
The mailings used the address labels of the Otto Wettstien
Pioneer directory furnished by Bob Moody and Bob King. This
is just the tip of the iceberg. Of the 400 names we had,
only 250 appeared in the 1998 Directory. This means that
there were many more on the pioneer roster than in the last
published directory.
We have email addresses for approx. 200 retirees for which
we will not use stamps to mail.
There are at least 1478 more names in the 78 directory for
which we need to send mailing to. We will still need many
more volunteers to get this done.
Attached is a copy of the letter that is being sent along
with a Client Interest Form to be filled out and returned to
us. It is important to get everyone we can involved in
this. There are a lot of you on the email list that I
haven't heard from and assume that you are getting copied.
In addition, retirees from other parts of the country need
to get involved and submit forms also. At this point, the
Attorney for the Carolina group is only representing the old
Carolina Telephone group. The Sandals Law firm is willing
to represent all of the other retirees.
I will be out of pocket for 7 to 8 days but will work on
scheduling more work sessions when I return. There may be
other areas that want to work on this project. They are
welcome. If we split some of it up we can get it done a lot
faster.
